Quality and Protection of the Environment
In order to meet the requirements of new times and make the client trust us in the situation of constant market competition ME Celma has worked out and initiated the Quality Management System according to the norm ISO 9001. Certification audit of the initiated system was carried out by the Polish Register of Ships-Gdańsk and Germanischer Lloyd Certification – Hamburg. On the basis of the positive result of the certification audit, ME CELMA S.A. obtained certificates ISO 9001 in the field of production of electric machines on 22.05.1995. They were issued by:
- The Polish Register of Ships ‘PRS’ in Gdańsk accredited by the Polish
Research and Certification Centre ‘PCBC’ - Germanischer Lloyd Certification ‘GLC’ in Hamburg accredited
by Deutcher Akkreditierungs Rat ‘DAR’ (Germany) and Raad voor Accreditatie ‘RVA’ (Holland).
Within the framework of the Quality Management System a quality policy has been formulated whose main aim is to ensure satisfaction of the client with produced electric motors and services.
In May 1998 a renewal audit was carried out, the result of which was
the prolongation of certificate validity until year 2001. It should also
be noted that the new certification comprised further areas of the firm’s
activity and now it states that the certificate refers to designing, production
and repairs of electric machines. The Quality system of our company
is constantly evolving in an attempt to realise the assumptions
of the Management through Quality Philosophy (TQM).
In the last quarter of the year 1998 work to introduce the Environmental Management System meeting the requirements of ISO Standard 14001
was started. Thus, environmental aspects were identified within
the framework of this work; instructions, procedures and the Book
of Environmental Management were worked out, basic environmental aims
and environmental policy, the assumptions of which are presented below,
were formulated. In September 1999 a certification audit was carried out
by Germanisher Lloyd Certification - Hamburg.
Due to the positive result of the audit carried out on 15 November 1999,
our Company was awarded the ISO 14001 Certificate.

Environmental policy statement
Maszyny Elektryczne CELMA S.A. is realises its environmental impacts and is aware of its responsibility related to those impacts.
Taking into account specific location of the company - directly at the national border and in the city centre - as well as its role and contribution to economic development in the region, Maszyny Elektryczne CELMA S.A. tries to conciliate development of the company with protecting environment.
Taking any decision we wish to consider environmental criteria. Therefore we declare to continue activities initiated in the framework of Cleaner Production Programme and Quality Management System through maintaining Environmental Management System in accordance with requirements of the International Standard ISO 14001.
In our activities we commit to:
- act in compliance to Polish environmental legislation and regulation,
- continually improve our environmental management system and environmental performance,
- give preference to preventing pollution rather than mitigating results whenever possible,
- continually raise environmental awareness of our employees.
This declaration will be accomplished through achieving environmental objectives and controlling all processes, which have or may have negative impacts on environment.
In particular our activities will aim at:
- minimising losses of oils and cooling emulsions used in machines and equipment,
- minimising emissions to air,
- optimising energy management for heating purposes,
- developing energy saving products.
