Three phase marine motors with squirrel cage rotor

Specification

The marine motors are modification of standard series.
The differences between marine and standard motors come
from the adequate standards and regulations, especially they
refer to protection against marine environment and determination
of rated parameters in typical supply conditions.
Marine motors are fitted for continuous duty S1 and ambient
temperature up to + 50 [0C].
Frames of the motors sizes: 90, 100, 112 are made of
aluminium alloy with lower copper content. Frames of the motors
sizes: 132, 160, 180 are made of cast iron. End shields of the motors
sizes: 90, 100, 112, 132, 160, 180 are made of cast iron. Stator winding is
made of enamelled copper coil wire. Insulation elements are in compliance
with insulation class F. The squirrel cage of the rotor is an aluminium casting .
The rotor together with half-key on the free output shaft extension are
balanced dynamically, and mounted in two ball bearings in the end shields.
The terminal box has two entries (one is plugged) with gland for supply the
motor by the armouring cable. The motor is cooled with air during operation
by a fan mounted on the shaft on non-drive side, under the fan cover enclosure.
The motor has marked earthing terminal (on frame) and neutral terminal  (on terminal box).

Protection degree

Protection degree  of the motor’s frame are in compliance with the
standard EN 60034-5:2001. Marine motors (marked with „mS”) are
provided with the IP 55 enclosure.

Mounting form
Marking of the motor in consideration of mounting form.
Mounting forms of the motor are in compliance with the standard
EN 60034-7:1993. Construction of the motors fit for mounting method.
Construction features are marked by the additional letters placed between
letters „S” and „g”(„h”) in the motor’s type:
without additional letter; a version with feet,
K - flange-type version,
L - flange-type version with feet.
Additional marks (which refer to the mounting form) hasn’t effect on
operating and starting performens of motors. Operating and starting
conditions depend on marine motors series and additional marks
(next to series mark) in the type.
