Just here, in 1878 Austrian businessman, Georg Schwabe, established a repair shop, managing thus to meet the demands of the textile industry and to initiate the history of INDUKTA. Only two years after the factory was founded, the production of power looms and later dynamos and other types of textile machines, like warping, Jacquard and selvage machines, was begun.

In 1919 the construction of motors was launched. These were totally-enclosed squirrel-cage motors designed as drive for weaving looms and based on the factory's own constructional solutions. Within the period between the World Wars, the variety of motors and textile machines produced was constantly modernised and developed.
The Second World War and the German Occupation caused vital changes in the produced assortment. By order of the occupying power the factory carried on production to supply army's demands, producing depth charge fuses, and parts for submarines and V1 and V2 rockets.
After the Second World War the production of motors and textile machines was launched again. In 1947 the factory officially become state property and started to function as a nationalized concern.
In 1950 the production of textile machines was transferred to the Textile Machines Factory BEFAMA, whereas INDUKTA concentrated on the production of electric motors. In the following years motors were modernised and new series and types were brought to sale. The factory itself was also modernised and reorganised. In 1973 the factory no. 2 was opened in Bielsko-Biała Komorowice.
Until 1991 INDUKTA was regarded as a state-owned factory. In the same year the firm was transformed into a Stock Company owned by the Government and the process of privatisation began. In 1994 our long-standing business partner - ELEKTRIM S.A bought 80% of the INDUKTA shares. A year later Elektropol Cantoni from Italy and Interelektra Holding from Luxemburg purchased 30% shares of Indukta from Elektrim.
In 1996 Indukta buys the company Fabryka Aparatury Elektrycznej EMA-ELFA in Ostrzeszów.
In 1997 ELEKTRIM S.A. made a decision to create the CAPITAL GROUP ELKTRIM-MOTOR on the basis of all the factories, which produced electric motors and were possessed by ELEKTRIM S.A. Among these factories, apart from INDUKTA, were BESEL, CELMA and EMIT.
